City Trails
Pittsburgh is truly a city meets nature kind of place. The following trails are all within city limits, so you can have a little bit of nature and little bit of cityscape all in one walk!
Schenley Park is located in the heart of Oakland. It offers plenty of green hillsides for picnicking and people-watching, in addition to several shaded trails and even a pool in the summer.
This Mount Washington Gem offers natural trails that feature spectacular views of the city from a higher elevation.
Located in Squirrel Hill, Frick Park is a great spot for a number activities, whether you’re looking to bike, bike, go for a leisurely stroll or even play a game of soccer or tennis.
Not far from the Pittsburgh Zoo, Highland Park offers many trails to walk on, plenty of green space for picnicking, and a track perfect for practicing your running skills.
Millvale Riverfront Park is a great place to walk or bike along the river in a quieter area than the North Shore. Stay tuned for several events and festivals there throughout the summer.
North Shore Riverfront Park features miles of trails great for biking, walking and running. These trails are truly in the heart of the city, so be sure to take in some of the best views around!
The South Side is a Pittsburgh neighborhood full of color. Enjoy walking or biking along the river, taking a look at the river goats, or checking out the newest graffiti art at the Color Park.
Stop and smell the roses, literally, when you take a stroll through Pittsburgh Botanical Gardens, featuring plenty of beautiful flowers and plants to look at while you exercise.
You read that correctly. Though it’s a cemetery, Allegheny Cemetery sits within a sprawling green space and is a serene place to take a solo walk and slow down for a while.
